Pregnant?  Get on the ball, the “Birthing Ball” that is!  This one hour class focuses on mobility and stability.  Training your inner core is essential for your pregnancy, birth and postpartum recovery.  Join in and learn how these balls are now being used in hospitals, birth centers and homes during labor, birth and beyond, all while getting a great workout!

A Brief History of the “Birthing Ball”...created by an Italian toy maker, Aguilino Cosani, in 1963, "birthing balls" were originally sold as a Gymnastik ball.  The balls were initially used by therapists for neurological, orthopedic and fitness applications.  During the 1980s the balls slowly moved from the clinical setting into the fitness and athletic arenas and into  “Birth Centers.” Stability balls are now one of the most versatile pieces of equipment used by many different professions.
